Why do I offer this retreat each year in April?

After years of tracking the regenerative energies of the Earth and Cosmos, I have found that April often is a good time to connect to the energies of water and earth (balancing that Aries fiery energy), to nourish and deepen as an in-breath that will allow us to bloom with greater vigor and creative energy into the later spring and summer months.

In the Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild, at Imbolc (February) we awaken the deep creative wells that were restoring in the deep rest and magick of winter, we ride the energies of rebirth in March and the Spring Equinox, and then take April to ground back and replenish so we can continue the expansion and growth into the alchemically juicy months of May (Beltane) and June (Summer Solstice).

Often, without that energetic in-breath of April, folks will ride the expansive energies of the Spring Equinox and get frazzled in the April Aries energies, getting burned out in late Spring and depleting a lot of the creative reserves of vitality before Summer Solstice. 

I can't think of a better place than Costa Rica, to restore with the nourishing tropical waters and lush jungle earth, while allowing our bodies to soften, open, and receive the delicious sacral chakra healing nectars of the tropical plants and Sacred Wild practices.
